| Mission:
We
are a non-profit social research and evaluation agency that
works with governmental and non-governmental agencies conducting
research for strategic planning purposes and evaluations to
assess the effectiveness of program strategies and outcomes
for clients.
We
are committed to providing high quality research and evaluation
services to organizations engaged in improving the quality
of life in San Joaquin County and the surrounding region.
Our work helps clients allocate resources, plan programs,
operate more effectively, and evaluate their impact on clients'
lives and the greater community.
History:
The
Data Co-Op was founded in 1996 as a non-profit, community-based
organization to serve the needs of social service providers
within San Joaquin County. Many providers required social
and economic data to plan activities or to apply for federal
or state support for new programs. The original purpose of
the Data Co-Op was to service these informational needs by
housing and sharing current data on critical community indicators.
In
the following 6 years the Data Co-Op underwent considerable
expansion, so that by 2002, we were able to offer a comprehensive
range of research and consulting services, from county-wide
needs assessments and strategic planning services to individual
project level evaluations. |
